Jingle Jangle a Christmas Journey

Jingle Jangle is about a little girl who leaves home to learn from her grandpa and be around a person who thinks as intricately as she does. He owns a toyshop that is going to be closed down due to his competitor being more successful than him. His competitor used to be his apprentice but that relationship ended when said apprentice betrayed him. His granddaughter goes on a journey to not only learn from him but, to bring back the joy to his life and toy shop.

Jingle Jangle is such a sweet movie. The beginning is fairly sad because we learn why the grandpa, Jeronicus, is all alone in the first place. You see this sad lonely old man with no hope slowly gain joy thanks to his granddaughter, Journey. That is always a sweet story to watch especially during the holidays. It has a good balance of comedy, drama, and wholesomeness.

I absolutely loved the costumes and set design. The colors really popped and I felt like I was in a magical place. Everything was so detailed and intricate down to the shoes. When a movie looks like how Jingle Jangle did you know it is going to be great because you can see how much care they put into telling this story. The music was phenomenal. Every song is perfectly matched with their scenes and fits well with the characters. For a lot of the movie, I would get up to dance along.

My favorite thing about the movie has to be the cast. The cast is full of black actors and actresses. It is so refreshing to see a movie starring black people that is not about the struggles of being black. Black people want to see themselves as wizards and vampires too but, the media is not ready to tell those stories using black people yet and that is a bummer.

I would recommend watching this movie with the family, it makes you appreciate them more. I would especially recommend if you like musicals, the vocals in this movie are out of this world.
